We are currently starting to test the private beta version of our private social network for Android. The app has already the same functionality as the iOS version, and is great for group sharing and messaging with family and close friends.
During the last months some services managed to alienate their users, because they changed their terms in a way that questioned the ownership and copyright of their users' content. Obviously and rightly this was often a cause for alarm for users of these services and heated discussions followed.
Last summer we wrote a first post titled "Protecting Your Privacy and Personal Data" on how grouptime provides an easy to use private social network and completely protects your privacy. Some of the facts about grouptime which we highlighted are:
Our new version of grouptime's private social network brings many improvements for private sharing and group messaging with family and close friends:
Group sharing and messaging is the core use case of our app. Users post news in their life to their family, privately share photos from dinners and parties with friends, coordinate with their family, plan nights out with their pals, send greetings from weekend trips to their family, post status updates with their location to privately inform about their whereabouts, organize leisure and sports activities, share links to interesting content, and much much more.
Many people have asked us for enhanced profile pages, because they wanted to show more photos on their profiles and be able to quickly check basic infos like birthdays and websites of friends.
One of the core ideas for grouptime has always been to offer users an easy to use private social network. A place where you can privately share with the people you choose. A place where you don't have to worry about privacy issues. A place where you don't have to deal with complicated privacy settings. A place where the service provider is not doing questionable things with your personal data and content.
Since today a big update of our iOS app is available in the iTunes App Store. The new version of grouptime's private social network takes private sharing and group messaging with family, friends and colleagues to the next level. Private group sharing is even easier and more powerful now:
Last summer we were looking for a messaging app that enables you to easily communicate in real-life groups like family, friends and colleagues, to post status updates to contacts from your address book, to share photos, voice memos and locations with people of your choice, and to save all those texting costs. We wanted to have a simple to use, but powerful app that allows instant, real-time communication with individuals and groups directly from your smartphone. Well, no solution gave us what we really wanted, and that´s why we decided to create grouptime.
